Hi Jessi,it's long since we met, this is to confirm that we've received your comments and message,we are eagerly waitin for that launching.hope no more hitches! Cheers Charles-kawangware youth group chairperson.
We are excited and delighted to be launching Mobile Movement next week. Thank you for believing in the power of working together - and most importantly thank you for being wonderful leaders in your community. You are setting an example for us all.
What is available to your community now? Where do people go for internet and how much does it cost? I want to know more about the community that would use the resource and training centre.
With thanks,
Lisa

Hello Lisa! Thank you for your question about my community. Kawangware is a very cosmopolitan low income area neighbouring an affluent neighborhood called Lavington. Bein unplanned and therefore out of the city councils plans, a lot of services are not offered and there is no infrastructure worth mentioning. No regular water, electricity . No sewer system. Most of the residents work in the well off areas of Lavington, Adams, Westlands and the central business district, mainly as security people, domestic workers gardeners etc. For the young people, cheap internet is only in town at 2 shillings per minute or in the above mentioned upscale areas where its 5shillings per minute for those who dont have it at home. This limits access to internet services for a lot of young people, many barely out of school and jobless. We have overtime discussed this issu and have resolved to work towards having a Centre that can offer both business and IT Services affordably. With the fibre optic cable landin in two months, we hope costs will come down making a centre as the one we ar envisaging viable. Thank you very much and we are forward to more questions and discusions with you. Kawangware urumwe team.
What will the Training aspect of the Centre cover?
What skills will be passed on to those using the Resource and Training Centre?
