Many youth groups in the slum communities of Nairobi, Kenya, run garbage collection services. Their goal is to create a clean and healthy environment for all -- and to uplift the youth. The two groups profiled here are our group, MANYGRO and another Mobile Movement Group situated closer to the countryside - WYPER.

    Hello MC Bourgie!

    Thanks for getting time to check us out om Mobile Movement! we believe a lot of health problems can be done a way with by just having a clean environment. we also believe that we can make a living out of care of the environment. That explains our plastics and scrap metal initiatives. we have companies that buy scrap metal and plastics but they look for huge Volumes. This makes us vulnerable to middle men who offer low prices. However, we are countering this by forming a network of waste management groups in our district so that we can move big volumes and possibly better prices. We hope this works.     Hi MANYGRO! I heard that you guys built a model chicken coop out of scrap materials to start getting ready for the chicken-rearing project, and to figure out the best design. What great initiative! I'm excited that this project is going to go ahead so soon... would love to hear from you guys how the group is doing these days!
