Eastlanders Environmental Youth Group
We are passionate about improving the health of our community through waste management, selling affordable water, and offering counseling for vulnerable children and youth in the area.
In order to set up and run a sustainable water-selling business, Eastlanders needs a grant to purchase a high quality, long-lasting water tank. This small-scale business will prove critical to the health of the community. The municipal water supply is unreliable at best, leaving residents at the mercy of water sellers who charge prices sometimes greater than gasoline per liter. With the cost of the tank and water pump covered, the group can undertake this business in a sustainable way that offers affordable and clean water to the community while paying the wages of several group members to run the kiosk.
