Vision Development Self Help Group
We run a successful waste-management business and also provide social services ranging from HIV/AIDS counseling to employment training.
In addition to their waste collection business, the group is home to a talented troupe of actors, singers, jugglers and musicians who take every opportunity to offer entertainment services as a for-profit business. The group has successfully earned a place in the professional entertainment and event market and wishes to expand. The cost of renting costumes and other equipment is high, as these items are hard to come by in East Africa. Vision Development hopes to assemble a high-quality kit of materials to help them increase their overall profit margin and rent out these items when they are not in use.
A huge bonus to supporting this very promising business venture is that these youth take time after every entertainment gig to visit government care facilities and provide free and much-needed fun, games and entertainment to AIDS orphans and abandoned children. Once the group owns their own entertainment materials, they plan to visit more frequently and put their clown noses and funny wigs to good use.
