  • El Elohe builds sustainable urban garden! »

Hello Mobile Movement, this is patrick, the hands and feet on the ground. Four projects have so far this year been funded and one of the most impressive is El elohe. We have so far put up the irrigation kit but luckly we wont be using it for sometime...Rains in plenty. Three planting seaons have beeb planned of two months each, with harvests every two months. There is going to be experimentation with both local and exotic vegetables...Broccoli, red and yello capiscum, asaparagus, cauliflower chines caobbage, lettuce just to see what works best.

Right now, very popular local vegetables; Amaranth, african nightshade, spider plant and crotalaria. we hope this be a hit with the people a round.

At this point, i can faill to appreciate the mobile movement community, all the Individuals who donated just to make this possible Am inviting you to follow this project's progress. Questions and comments are welcome. Thank you very much.

  • The power of young people. »

Hello Good people! This Patrick Ominde and am the field out reach cordinator for Mobile movement. All the projects that are on the site are impressive, each has its own challenges and to me its a learning day each day. Am so much impressed with What Mathare environmental conservation group is doing. The work for and with young people to provide studying space in the crowded and unplanned Mathare area and free tutorial service to youngsters in high school and primary school. coupled with the neighborhood clean ups and affordable entertainment at their social hall, its work that gives young people a sense of belonging in their neighborhood., not to mention the cordial relationship that exist between the group and the residents.
